The Company

Diagnostic Imaging for Women is a high-end private radiology practice, established in Spring Hill in 1998.  It is the brainchild of Dr Paula Sivyer (MBBS FRANZCR) who’s outstanding reputation in women’s imaging is supported by over 15 years clinical experience.  Diagnostic Imaging for Women is committed to providing state-of-the-art women’s radiology services through use of the latest medical imaging technology, comprehensive medical reports and clinically directed imaging in a sensitive and supportive environment for our patients.  In late 2010, a second state-of-the-art women’s imaging practice was launched in the nearby St Andrew’s Specialist Centre.

The IT challenge

DIFW were looking to engage with a fixed price managed service provider to take over support of their existing site. Additionally they required a provider with the technical proficiency to consult, design and implement a complex new network to allow for expansion into a new site. The specific nature of the imaging environment required detailed planning and benchmarking, as well as management of a number of relationships with third party service providers.

The Conosco solution

The Conosco solution involved a replicated multi-site virtualisation environment based on the Citrix XenServer hypervisor and ‘best of breed’ Dell EqualLogic storage. This allowed for the two sites to be seamlessly integrated over a direct fibre link, providing redundancy in the event of a single site failure; a key requirement identified during the design phase.

All equipment is monitored and supported under the Conosco ‘Absolute’ Managed Computing plan. This involves gaining a thorough understanding of the working environment and tailoring the support offering accordingly; providing a rapid onsite response when required, recognising the importance of key processes to the business.
